In a distressing event, police apprehended a man in Haryana's Rewari district for the suspected murder of his partner's five-year-old daughter.
Reports indicate that the suspect, identified as Roshan from Bihar, acted out of anger during the incident.
A senior police official confirmed that Roshan has been charged with murder.
The police revealed that Roshan was residing with the woman and her daughter in a rented space. A dispute erupted between him and the woman while they were outside their home. After the woman left for the railway station, Roshan returned alone.
The young girl was reportedly crying and pleading for her mother. In a fit of rage, Roshan allegedly pushed her to the ground.
Following the incident, he fled the scene. The police quickly organized multiple teams to locate him, leading to his eventual arrest.
BSF and Customs Seize Smuggled Gold in Tripura
In an unrelated event, a joint operation by the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Customs Preventive Force resulted in the seizure of gold valued at approximately Rs 1.59 crore in Tripura's Sepahijala district on September 20.
Officials stated that the operation commenced around 11:15 PM, initiated by BSF personnel from the N C Nagar Border Outpost in collaboration with the Customs Preventive Force from Sonamura. The team discovered 12 gold biscuits weighing around 1.39 kilograms in the residence of an Indian villager within the jurisdiction of Sonamura police station.
The gold is believed to have been smuggled across the India-Bangladesh border, with its market value estimated at Rs 1.59 crore.
